Dr. Vivek M

Hello ! My name is Vivek. I am working as an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, India. I joined IIA as a DST-SERB Ramanujan Fellow in the year 2019. After a year in the Ramanujan Fellowship, I joined as a permanent faculty in IIA in 2020.  Before this, I was a post doctoral fellow at Pennsylvania State University and University of Utah. During this period, I served as  the survey operations scientist  for the eBOSS project in SDSS-IV from 2014 to 2018.

Besides research, I have a very strong interest in astronomy education and outreach. I have made several efforts throughout my years to give astronomy lectures at both school and college level.
